Auxiliary Bishop David McGough of Birmingham has officially installed Fr Michael Leadbeater as parish priest of Our Lady of the Angels in Aldridge, West Midlands, writes Józef Łopuszyński.

Normally the ceremony would be carried out by the dean of an area, but in this case, as Fr Leadbeater is the Walsall dean, the installation was carried out by the bishop.

“Most priests arrive in a new parish as a stranger among strangers,” said Fr Leadbeater. “This was not so for me, because over the last few years, as I have ministered in the local schools, and from time to time in the parish, I have made many friends.

“On the evening of the induction I was surrounded by the love of friends and family, for which I am deeply grateful.”
