Tensions between the Conservative party and the Catholic Church’s hierarchy have heightened in the past year, following the legalisation of same-sex marriage and strong criticism of Government welfare cuts from members of the church’s hierarchy.

With the Conservative party moving towards an increasingly liberal agenda we discuss if Catholics can, in good conscience, still vote Conservative?

Associate Editor of the Catholic Herald, Madeleine Teahan, met with Catholic MP, Jacob Rees-Mogg and Ed West, Deputy Editor of the Catholic Herald to discuss this question.
