Cardinal prays for hurricane victims
Cardinal Daniel DiNardo of Galveston-Houston has called for prayers for all those affected by Hurricane Irma. He asked God to “guide the steady hands of first responders and to widen the hearts of all who are able to be generous to neighbours facing danger”.
Ireland’s vocations fall to 222-year low
Only six men are starting studies for the priesthood in Ireland this autumn. It is the lowest number since the national seminary at Maynooth opened in 1795.
