Bishop Stephen Robson, auxiliary bishop of St Andrews and Edinburgh, has been named the new bishop of the Dunkeld Diocese.
According to our sister paper the Scottish Catholic Observer, his installation will take place in early January.
Bishop Robson, 62, was installed as an auxiliary bishop for St Andrews and Edinburgh in June last year. His predecessor in Dunkeld, Bishop Emeritus Vincent Logan, stepped down for health reasons the following month and since then Canon Basil O’Sullivan has served as diocesan administrator.
Bishop Robson was previously spiritual director of the Scots College in Rome and chancellor of St Andrews and Edinburgh Archdiocese.
