Pope Emeritus will make his third public appearance
The Pope Emeritus will attend an event with the Catholic Grandparents’ Association on Sunday in St Peter’s Square.
Benedict XVI, now aged 87, will attend the first part of the event presided over by Pope Francis that will highlight the importance of grandparents and the elderly in society, a spokesman said.
The Pope Emeritus will depart before Francis celebrates an open-air Mass for the crowd.
This will be his third public appearance since his resignation in February 2013.
