Pop star delighted with Boston College video in support of faith initiative

Pop star Taylor Swift has praised a Catholic college in America that created a music video of her latest hit Shake It Off as part of a faith initiative.

Boston College, a Jesuit university in Massachusetts, said it chose Shake It Off for the video to offer an invitation to “shake off our burdens and choose to foster ‘agape: unconditional love that seeks nothing in return’ in the lives of others”.

The video features teachers, pupils and even priests dancing to the song around the grounds of the school, with statues of the Virgin Mary in the background of some shots.

Following the release of the video, Swift tweeted to her 45.6 million followers: “Thank you to everyone who took part in making this, it just made me SO happy!”
