Cardinal Parolin will meet refugees during a three-day visit to Slovenia
The Vatican and the prime minister of Slovenia have jointly called for a a “humane and solidarity-based” resolution to the refugee crisis.
Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin and Prime Minister Miro Cerar spoke at a press conference on Tuesday at the start of the cardinal’s three-day visit to Slovenia on Tuesday, Vatican Radio reports.
Cardinal Parolin is scheduled to visit refugees in Dobova on Wednesday.
During the press conference which took place after a meeting between the two men, Prime Minister Cerar said he is pleased with the recent announcement that the Holy See is opening a permanent Apostolic Nunciature in Slovenia.
Cardinal Parolin said that this was a sign that both countries wish to strengthen their relations.
