The Senior Staff Nurse will work on a rotational shift system as a small team of 4 senior staff. Assisted by a team of Staff Nurses they will lead the team of dedicated Care Staff, all of whom have a minimum of NVQ training. Our residents are Sisters who have dedicated their lives to the care and support of others in the U.K, Ireland or overseas in California, El Salvador, Zambia or Uganda. They are now in need of the highest quality of compassionate care 
themselves.
All nurses are required to have up to date NMC registration with evidence of recent relevant professional training. It is essential that they are dedicated to the care of the elderly and have:

  • a proven track record in the care of the elderly and good clinical knowledge of general medicine, palliative care and dementia care
  • a thorough understanding of CQC legislation and its requirements
  • good care planning skills, knowledge and experience

Each post also requires:
Senior Nurse

  • at least 5 years post-registration experience
  • management experience with experience of supervision of Nursing, Care and Ancillary staff

Night Nurse (RGN)

  • at least 4 years post-registration experience
  • experience of supervising Care staff

Day Nurse (RGN)

  • at least 3 years post-registration experience
  • experience of supervising Care staff

For both posts we are looking for an excellent team player who has

  • a compassionate approach;
  • a sense of humour and initiative;
  • excellent communication skills;
  • a respectful approach to their work which is honours the dignity of residents and colleagues.

DETAILS : Can you encourage support for the faithful wherever they are persecuted, oppressed or in pastoral need? We are seeking someone with energy to represent the work of Aid to the Church in Need.
You will be required to give 12 weekends of appeals per annum in parishes and up to 3 talks in schools, colleges and/or universities.

You should possess a thorough knowledge of the Catholic Church, be a confident communicator, enjoy meeting the public and be used to public speaking. Computer literacy and a full driving licence are essential.
Remuneration is offered for this part-time role.
