Westminster Cathedral Choir School Chorister Outreach is expanding its work, and seeks to appoint enthusiastic and motivated Song Leaders to further its mission to deliver inspiring choir training to diocesan schools. WCCS Chorister Outreach has been operating since 2009 and currently sends Song Leaders into 11 schools, with over 400 children participating. This past academic year, the project worked towards a performance of Benjamin Britten’s Noye’s Fludde in Westminster Cathedral in June 2014.

Duties:

  • 8 x 1hr choir sessions per term in a designated school, with a class of between 30-60 children at Key Stage 2 Level;
  • attendance at the end of term concert in Westminster Cathedral Hall;
  • instilling a high standard and enjoyment of singing, both with the allocated group and through all contact with the school.

The desired candidate will:

  • have experience of working with Key Stage 2 children;
  • be a competent singer;
  • have a love of singing and choral music;
  • have a passion and dedication for teaching.
CLOSING DATE : Interviews will take place at the Choir School of Westminster Cathedral on Thursday 4th September. If shortlisted you will hear confirmation via email, and the closing date for applications is Sunday 31st August.

As part of a Senior Leadership Group you will work to enable and develop the Church’s thinking and good practice on mission and advocacy. An experienced manager, you must be used to working in a matrix organisation and a multidisciplinary environment; be an influential relationship-builder and problem solver; be able to recognise the specialist skills of others; be a consistent decision-maker and be passionate about delivering ongoing improvement to further the effectiveness of the Church’s mission.
Current starting salary £56,686 including Inner London Allowance. For presbyters and deacons of the Methodist Church, the usual terms and conditions will apply. This post has an Occupational Requirement for the post-holder to be a committed Christian.* We would also particularly like to hear from female applicants who are currently disproportionately under-represented at this level of management in the Connexional Team.

DETAILS : Can you encourage support for the faithful wherever they are persecuted, oppressed or in pastoral need? We are seeking someone with energy to represent the work of Aid to the Church in Need.
You will be required to give 12 weekends of appeals per annum in parishes and up to 3 talks in schools, colleges and/or universities.

You should possess a thorough knowledge of the Catholic Church, be a confident communicator, enjoy meeting the public and be used to public speaking. Computer literacy and a full driving licence are essential.
Remuneration is offered for this part-time role.
All new appointments are subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure.
